The place where tickets to a movie or show is sold is called the box office. In the film industry, however, “box office” is used as a term to describe the best-selling movies. Every week, box office movies are ranked based on their earnings, either within an area or worldwide. Ticket sales are the primary determinants of box office rankings. Box office returns and rankings are especially competitive during the Christmas season and the summer.
